COOPERADORA - HOSPITAL PòBLICO
Ensenada, Argentina
February 2009
Traveling in Argentina I was surprised to learn about Argentine federal public health care and services being universally available to everyone. Coming from a family without health insurance in the USA I was stuck by this informationÉwhat would is look like if everyone in the US could comfortably trust in their medical needs being met? When offered the chance to design and paint a mural on the exterior of the cooperadora (extra clinic space/run off from the general public hospital) in Ensenada, Argentina I jumped at the opportunity. This mural explores the idea of universal healthcare (dove, stethoscope/ serpents (medical symbol) lending its wings to the well being of everyone regardless of their socio-economic circumstance (represented by the people of various vocations flying on the wings of the dove.)
